Meryn Williams

The New Accompanist of The Pendyrus Male Choir

We would like to welcome our newest addition to the music team Miss Meryn Williams after the retirement of our accompanist emeritus Mr Gavin Parry on the the 21^st of September 2024 after 51 years unbroken service.

Meryn Williams studied music at Cardiff University under Professor Alun Hoddinott and studied piano with Martin Jones and Arnold Draper. It was here that she also won the Morfydd Owen prize for piano. She has accompanied many soloists and worked in many ensembles.

She has worked with Roy Hudd, the RAF band and with Stuart Burrows in his masterclass series.

Meryn now works for With Music in Mind charity and is musical director of Côr y Bryn female choir

Meryn is the 5th accompanist of Pendyrus, and we would like to welcome her into the family, We hope she enjoys the journey with us.
